About Us

Boisvert Law Group can be traced back to the founder, Duane Catterall, who opened his practice in 1968. Shari joined the firm in 1994 and both lawyers provided legal services to Edson and surrounding communities. The new location on Main Street opened in 2008 with Boisvert Law Group receiving the Town of Edson Beautification Award. Duane retired in 2008 and Shari continues to proudly serve the community’s legal needs. The firm currently specializes in the areas of Real Estate, Wills and Estates, Corporate Law, and Commercial Law. Both Notary Services and Commissioner for Oaths services are also provided. Shari and her staff strive to educate and assist people in a friendly, professional, and client-centered manner.

Estate Planning: Wills, Enduring Powers of Attorney & Personal Directives

Our firm assists families in estate planning, drafting wills, enduring powers of attorney and personal directives. We also can assist in applying for guardianship and trusteeship of dependent adults.

Real Estate

Our firm’s real estate conveyancing staff are experienced in helping people buy and sell residential and commercial properties, and assisting with financing documentation required by the banks.

Business Law

We have the expertise to advise you on the sales and acquisition of businesses. Our firm has vast experience with incorporating companies, drafting leases, and assisting with commercial financing.

Estates

The firm can assist you in obtaining grants of probate and grants of administration. We can walk you through and assist you in the whole process of your job as a personal representative (executor).

Notary Services

Our firm can notarize documents requiring a notary’s signature and seal. We also provide Commissioner for Oaths services to the public.

Our Lawyer

Shari L Boisvert has been practicing law since 1993. She joined Duane Catterall in Edson, Alberta after a successful career as a teacher and counsellor with Grand Yellowhead School Division, and both the Public and Catholic School Divisions in Lethbridge. Shari and Duane practiced together for 15 years until he retired in 2008. Shari’s legal practice currently focuses on the areas of Real Estate, Wills and Estate, Corporate Law, and Commercial Law. She practiced Family Law for many years and was an instructor for the Government of Alberta’s “Parenting After Separation Course”. Shari was also a Federal Crown Prosecutor for the Public Prosecution Service of Canada for over 8 years. Shari has been active in the Edson and area community. She was the past president of the West Yellowhead Bar Association and the music director for a local church. Shari was a long-time volunteer with Edson Minor Hockey. Shari and her staff strive to educate and assist people in a friendly, professional and client-centered manner.
